Hype House

Crisis Committee
Committee Summary
In this committee, delegates will battle the implosion of the influencer world on July 6, 2020. Hype House member Chase Hudson has leaked private messages and hidden scandals. Overnight, the internet became a battlefield between conflicting influencers and drama, forcing members to fight to salvage their reputation for their fans and weaponize chaos for clout in response. TMZ and other tabloids are leaking information and turning every minor drama into national spectacles. Viewers, isolated at home during the COVID pandemic, devour the drama as their primary entertainment, pushing more engagement while fueling mass online harassment. Prior creator alliances are breaking down and affecting creator houses, including the Hype House. Relationships are being exposed with cheater scandals while fans choose who to believe, whose side they are on, and who to cancel. Influencers have to keep their image and fight the lies—all while navigating a rapidly shifting landscape where one post can save a career or destroy it entirely. As tensions rise, creators must decide whether to rebuild trust, expose rivals, or reshape the influencer ecosystem itself. The committee begins at the exact moment the leaks hit the internet, when every decision has the potential to shift public opinion and redefine the future of online entertainment.
Committee Staff

Head Chair
Renee Kiran
Hi everyone! My name is Renee, and I am a senior at Vista del Lago. I have participated in Model UN since seventh grade and chaired at multiple conferences. I am excited to be your Head Chair for Crisis, because this will be my last VMUNC and I am sure committee will be lots of fun. Outside of Model UN, I like listening to music, reading books, and hanging out with friends. My advice to delegates new to Crisis is to be confident in your abilities and not focus too much on what others may think. Crisis committees move quickly, and with the added element of crisis notes, I recommend having fun with directives while making sure they are implementable. Do not be afraid to ask questions, and do not forget to have fun. I cannot wait to hear all the interesting conversations in committee!

I am excited to be one of your Vice Chairs for Crisis and cannot wait to see the creative ideas and strategies you bring to committee. Outside of Model UN, I enjoy traveling, playing basketball, hanging out with friends, and listening to music. My biggest advice is to speak up, even if you are not completely sure of your idea. Crisis moves fast, and joining discussions, asking questions, and working with other delegates will help you get the most from the experience. Have fun, challenge yourself, and make the most of every committee. I cannot wait to meet you all!

Vice Chair
Kayna Arun
Hi everyone! My name is Kayna, and I am a senior at Vista del Lago. I have participated in Model UN for four years and attended conferences such as VMUNC and BMUNC. I cannot wait to be your Vice Chair for Crisis this year and finish my VMUNC experience on a positive note. Outside of Model UN, I enjoy dance, listening to music, spending time with friends and family, and traveling. My advice to delegates new to Crisis is not to be afraid to speak up and work with others. This committee moves quickly, and often speaking up is better than waiting for the perfect idea. In Crisis, it is also important to negotiate, form alliances, and communicate with other delegates. Have fun, do not worry about mistakes, and ask questions whenever you need help. See you in committee!
